Steytlerville Publicity
Steytlerville was established in 1876 by the Dutch Reformed Church on the Farm Dorspoort and was named after the local priest the Rev A.I.Steytler. The town is situated to the north of the Baviaans Mountains in the Baviaans Municipality. A proviso in establishing the town was that no alcohol be served in the towns limits so all the hotels and liquor outlets were built just beyond these boundaries. The area around Steytlerville abounds with farm stays, hunting reserves, private game reserves and has many outdoor activities. The landscape is very varied and very dramatic.
