Cape Town International Airport is approximately 17km from the city centre and about a 15 to 20 minutes drive. There is no rail service that connects it to the city and transfers can easily be arranged on busses and shuttles.

The airport is served by direct flights from many countries and a number of international flights that are routed via Johannesburg International Airport.

The airport is undergoing significant upgrades in order to cater for the increased demand from business, leisure and events travellers.

Cape Town International Airport offers a number of services including two visitor information centres, car hire, restaurants and coffee shops. It was recently rated as the best airport of its size in the world by the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
