Once the home district of an early Zulu monarch - King Zwide - Nongoma was established in1887, and is today a bustling trading centre in the true Zululand tradition. Sapekoe Tea Estates lie between Nongoma and the Ngome-Ntendeka Wilderness and tours are regularly arranged.
